Metabolic Health

Medical Weight Loss, Built for Your Second Act

Weight does not behave at 50 the way it did at 30. Metabolism slows, hormones shift, and the strategies that used to work quietly stop working. That is not a failure of willpower — it is biology, and biology responds to a plan.

ACT 2 Health is a clinician-led, membership-based program for adults in midlife who want measurable, sustainable weight management. We start with your labs and your body, not a one-size protocol.

See if you're eligibleA short assessment. No obligation. Reviewed by a clinician.

We measure first. Then we act.

01 — Why now

Why weight changes after 45

Several things move at once in midlife, and they compound. Each one is small. Together, they reshape how your body holds weight.

  • Resting metabolism declines

Lean muscle falls by roughly 1–2% a year after 40 if nothing intervenes. Less muscle means fewer calories burned at rest.

  • Hormones shift

Perimenopause and menopause change how and where the body stores fat. In men, a gradual testosterone decline reduces muscle and energy.

  • Insulin sensitivity drops

It becomes easier to store fat and harder to use it for fuel — even when habits haven't changed.

  • Sleep & recovery degrade

A busy decade erodes sleep, stress, and recovery — and each one nudges appetite and metabolism the wrong way.

The takeaway is hopeful: these are measurable systems. When you can see your biomarkers, you can build a plan that fits the body you actually have — not the one you had twenty years ago.

02 — Our model

How ACT 2 Health approaches weight management

One path for every member. Each step feeds the next, and the loop keeps turning for as long as you're with us.

  1. 01

    Measure

A baseline: comprehensive lab panels, body composition, and a full history. This tells us what's driving your weight — metabolic, hormonal, or behavioral.

  2. 02

    Plan

A clinician builds a protocol around your results and goals. For some members that's nutrition, strength, and sleep. For eligible patients, it may include medication.

  3. 03

    Act

You start, with clear instructions and high-touch support — not a prescription handed over and forgotten.

  4. 04

    Track

We re-check the numbers on a regular cadence, so progress is visible, not guessed at.

  5. 05

    Adjust

Doses, targets, and habits are tuned over time. This is membership-led care, not a one-off service.

03 — What we may consider

Treatment options we may consider

The right option depends on your biomarkers, history, and goals. Everything below is prescribed only for eligible patients after clinical review. Results vary.

GLP-1 and dual-agonist medications

GLP-1 receptor agonists have changed what's possible in medical weight management. They work with your body's own appetite and blood-sugar signaling as part of a plan that includes nutrition and strength work. Individual response varies.

GLP-1

Semaglutide

Compounded

Semaglutide is a GLP-1 receptor agonist. It works with the body's own appetite and blood-sugar signaling and is prescribed as part of a structured plan that includes nutrition, strength training and ongoing clinical monitoring. Individual response varies, and eligibility is determined by a licensed provider.

GLP-1 + GIP

Tirzepatide

Compounded

Tirzepatide acts on two receptor pathways, GLP-1 and GIP, rather than one. Whether a single-pathway or dual-pathway option fits you is a clinical decision made with your provider, based on your history, labs and response. Individual response varies.

From $399View plan

These medications are tools, not shortcuts. They work best paired with adequate protein, strength training to support muscle, and ongoing clinical oversight to manage common side effects — mostly gastrointestinal, such as nausea, and often eased with careful dose titration.

Results vary. Clinical trial results apply only to the FDA-approved branded medication specifically identified and do not apply to compounded medications. All medications must be prescribed by a licensed provider based on medical necessity.

Supporting muscle through weight loss

Losing weight in midlife without losing muscle is the whole game. Our protocols emphasize protein targets, resistance training and biomarker tracking, with the goal of supporting lean mass through the process. Individual results vary.

Stay yourself longer.

Metabolic and hormone support

Sometimes weight resistance is really a hormone or metabolic story. Where the labs point that way, your plan may connect to our hormone optimization program — because the systems are linked, and treating one without the other rarely works.

04 — Progress you can track

What progress looks like

Sustainable weight management is not a single number on a single day. With ACT 2 Health, you track what actually matters — and we share it with you plainly. Progress you can track is the point.

Your dashboardTracked over time
  • Body composition

Fat and lean mass — not just total weight on a scale.

  • Metabolic markers

Fasting glucose, lipids, and related labs, tracked over time.

  • Energy, sleep & strength

The things you actually feel, day to day.

05 — Questions

Frequently asked questions

  • No. Medication is one possible tool, offered only to eligible patients after a clinical assessment. Many members do well with a structured nutrition, strength, and sleep plan. We recommend what your biomarkers support.

  • Some muscle loss can occur with any significant weight loss. Our protocols emphasize protein, resistance training and ongoing monitoring to support lean mass. Individual results vary.

  • Results vary by person and plan. Sustainable change is the goal, and we track it on a regular cadence so you can see real movement over time rather than chasing a fast number.

  • Not necessarily. Your protocol is reviewed and adjusted over time. Some members taper as habits and biomarkers improve. This is decided together, based on your data.

  • Both. Midlife weight change affects everyone, and our plans are tailored to your physiology — including the hormonal shifts of perimenopause, menopause, and male testosterone decline.
